The ASUS ROG STRIX B550-I GAMING, launched in July 2020, is a compact and powerful motherboard designed for AMD CPUs, using the AM4 socket and the B550 chipset. This Mini-ITX form factor board, measuring 17.0 x 17.0 cm, is built to offer high performance in a small footprint, ideal for compact gaming builds.

This motherboard supports DDR4 memory with speeds up to 5100MHz (PC4-40800), and features two memory slots enabling dual-channel configurations with a maximum capacity of 64GB. It also supports XMP for easy memory overclocking.

Expansion capabilities are robust with a single PCIe 4.0 x16 slot, providing ample bandwidth for the latest graphics cards. Storage options include two M.2 slots and four SATA3 (6Gb/s) ports. The M.2 slots support PCIe, NVMe, and SATA drives, compatible with M.2 form factors 2242, 2260, and 2280, and include heatsinks to ensure efficient cooling.

For connectivity, the motherboard includes a variety of options. The rear I/O panel offers USB 3.x 10Gbps (both Type-A and Type-C), USB 2.0, HDMI, DisplayPort, and a 2.5Gbps Ethernet port powered by the Intel I225-V chipset. Additionally, it features Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for wireless connectivity.

The audio experience is enhanced by the SupremeFX S1220A chipset, providing 7.1-channel surround sound output. The motherboard also includes headers for USB 3.0, USB 2.0, and USB 3.1 Type-C, as well as RGB and ARGB headers for custom lighting setups.

Special features include an 8+2 phase power design with 50A per phase, ensuring stable power delivery for overclocking and high-performance usage. The board supports SATA RAID and comes with a user-friendly UEFI BIOS for easy system tuning and configuration. The inclusion of M.2 heatsinks helps in maintaining optimal temperatures for high-speed storage devices.
